What is an online honeymoon registry?

A honeymoon registry is similar to a regular gift registry; however, instead of registering for dishes or other home items, you register for pieces and parts of your honeymoon. For example, with Package B (enhanced registry) your contributors may pick the monetary amount and component of your honeymoon they'd like to contribute to such as airfare, a night's lodging, an activity or excursion, wine/champagne, or a meal such as a romantic dinner.

Keep it simple with Package A (basic registry) and your guests can simply contribute a monetary amount. Both of these packages enable you to plan the honeymoon of your dreams while tracking your gifts and providing a list to complete your thank you cards.

How does it work?
1. Create a registry with one of our travel consultants. Pick your package, basic or enhanced to keep it simple or personalize it to allow your guests to give you a specific part of your dream.

2. We have a few different options for registries:
a.) Basic- your guests can simply contribute a monetary amount online
b.) Enhanced- we develop and customize a personal honeymoon page so your contributors can read your story, view your destination, and pick the monetary amount and component of your honeymoon they'd like to contribute to such as airfare, a night's lodging, an activity or excursion, wine/champagne, or a meal such as a romantic dinner. You receive a personalized web address for your wedding site to make it quick and easy for guests to view your registry and/or make a contribution and we provide a personalized insert for your invitations that you can download & have printed at the same time as your invitations.
c.) Complete Wedding Destination Services Package which incorporates the enhanced honeymoon registry (b), with a Destination Group Travel Coordinator to assist with booking a group hotel block and manage logistics, set up the RSVP's and details of your wedding, and team with a Graphic Designer to create a customized website allowing a "one stop shopping center" to incorporate your entire destination bookings such as hotel block and events with the significant bonus of providing you with online reports available 24/7 to track your reservations and details. You will have a personalized web address for your wedding site to include in your invitations or save the date announcements.

3. Our system is linked to a PayPal account and is completely secure and reliable so that your guests can give a gift easily and safely.

How much does it cost?
There is a service fee for the A & B packages, which is deducted from your total amount collected. The fee is equal to 5% of the total monetary gifts contributed to your honeymoon package.


What is the service fee for?
This covers online transaction and credit card fees, the design and upkeep of your registry, phone and email support five days a week, trip planning, and customer support for those purchasing gifts for you over the phone.

Setup: Register for as little or as much as you like. We will provide you with a detailed list o of items required for the site build out once you select our services.

Do my contributors/guests pay a fee?
The service fee is built into the cost of the gift contributed. There is no additional fee charged to guests. For example, if a guest gives $10, a total of 50¢ goes towards web hosting, design, customer support, etc. as described above.

Comparison Shopping:

We try to keep our fee as low as possible. The main cost of having a registry like this is the credit card processing fee, and especially accepting payments online. The average fee for retailers/companies taking credit cards is about 3%. The average cost for merchants that accept credit cards online is approximately 3%. So after covering our overhead, this makes our actual profit very small. However, we believe in over the top customer service and giving our clients the option of a honeymoon registry enhances our goal as a business to be a "one stop shop" when it comes to travel.

Because we are a full service travel agency and event planning company we are able to keep our fees lower than registry sites that handle only the registry and gifting side of it. Rather than incorporating the fee into the actual travel planning, we prefer to be up front with our clients so they know exactly what they are paying extra for. There is no way around credit card fees, so even if a site says they do not charge an extra fee, you can be sure it is built into some part of the situation.

This can make your honeymoon planning a bit difficult. Finally, "free" services typically include advertising on your registry page and sell your contact information to marketing firms (they need to make a profit somehow).

Are my guests charged a fee?
Not unless you decide to have them cover your fees, as a type of service charge. As we described above, the fee can be built into the gift as well. It is up to you how the 5% fee is paid.

Are my guests charged sales tax?
No! We do not have sales tax in Montana.

How does the fee compare to a "traditional" wedding registry?
The shipping and handling costs of gifts purchased through a traditional registry are usually more than 12% of the total cost of the gift. So if you look at this as your service fee, our honeymoon registry is really a better deal.

Because, the Travel Station's honeymoon registry is online and accessible 24 hours a day, your guests have the convenience of giving a gift in advance and not having to worry about wrapping and shipping of gifts, or having to bring it to the actual wedding.

How is the fee explained to my guests?
It is apparent to them just as it is here. Guests can read the answers to these questions to understand where the fee is incorporated. We've found guests don't like an "extra" fee, but if it's part of the overall gift amount they are much happier to provide it.

What is the cancellation policy for a registry?
In the event your wedding cancels once the site work is completed, or at any time prior to your excepted travel, the client is responsible for 10% cancellation fee of all collected funds from contributing guests to your Gift Registry to cover administrative, credit card, and merchant fees. TS/CTS will provide each contributing guest 90% of the amount they submitted as the refund will reflect the 10% cancellation penalty fees. Any fees such as cost of building the deluxe registry will be non refundable. Travel, Venue, Activity deposits paid or collected on your behalf are subject to the individual cancellation policies of each provider and will be disclosed independently at the time of booking and are not applicable to this agreement.

How do I inform my guests about my registry?
Your custom registry page will have an easy-to-remember web address or link that you can share. Including your registry in your invitation with the link for your guest is a great way to let guests know where to go to find out all of the details of your big day. We will provide you with a pre-designed PDF of your choice that you can have printed for your invitation registry enclosures.

Who can give a gift?
Anyone with a valid Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express credit card as well as those with a PayPal account. Your guests can also mail a check or bring a payment into one of our office locations.

How do I split up the cost of an expensive item?
With the enhanced package, gifts are set up in increments. For example if you need $600 for airfare, we can set your registry up so that a quantity of 12 gifts of $50 each are needed to satisfy the cost of your airfare. Setting up your expensive items as multiple gifts of smaller amounts makes it easy for your friends and family to give you a piece of an item or experience that is typically too expensive for one person to provide.

How do I redeem the gifts in my account? How long does it take to receive my gifts?
We can provide you with your honeymoon travel plans or give you the money amount of your gifts whenever you are ready to receive them.

What is the best way to thank a guest?
We believe a personal thank you card is always best. We will provide you with a specific list of who gave you what to make writing your thank you's fast and easy.

Is my personal information safe?
We will not share or sell any of the personal information of our registrants or guests. All of your personal information is stored on our secure database.

Is credit card information secure?
PayPal is the leading online credit card service rated PCI compliant across the board.

Why not just receive money at the shower or wedding?
Receiving money ahead of time will allow you to plan and pay for your honeymoon before the wedding. Our service allows you to pay as you go for your trip and also to have spending money already in your account before you leave on your vacation.

How do I know when I receive a gift?
A report of your contributions will be sent to you once a week, on Wednesdays. In addition, your account information will be immediately updated to reflect the contribution.

How long can I keep my account open?
You're registry will stay active until 2 weeks prior to your travel unless you request otherwise.
