Most of the tourists may leave as summer wanes, but Yellowstone National Park really heats up when the snow flies. In fact, Yellowstone becomes a winter paradise for those who enjoy cross country skiing, snowmobiling, or merely enjoying some of
the most spectacular winter scenery and wildlife observation in America.

The winter snowmobile and snowcoach season in Yellowstone begins the second Saturday of December until mid-March.
That’s also when most of the Park’s wildlife population is down from higher elevations. The 1.2 million-acre Park's world-famous thermal features also do not hibernate in the winter. In fact, they are perhaps even more beautiful contrasted against the pristine winter landscape. This is the Yellowstone few people are able to experience, but once you have, you will never think of the
Park or winter in quite the same way.

The Travel Station is in the position to show you Yellowstone Park as few others may do. We are located in Bozeman, Mont.,
just 90 miles from the Park’s west entrance, which is also winter gateway to Yellowstone. (All of the roads in the park are
closed to motor traffic in the winter and groomed for oversnow vehicles with the exception of the North Entrance, which is
open to wheeled vehicles from Mammoth to Cooke City). We draw on decades of experience in Yellowstone Country as we
share our secrets to the best sites , sounds and experiences under the Big Sky. We hope you’ll let us help show you why
Montana IS the Last Best Place.
